Expression After 48, 2021
(Daily Language of Being Human Series)
140 x 70 cm
Mixed Media on recycled canvas
This work is a culmination of lived experience—grief, joy, transformation, and resilience. My body carries memory in its bones; my mind, in its scars and wisdom. Expression becomes a reflection of everything endured and embraced.
After 48 years, my body is a map of change, and my mind a landscape shaped by storms and sunlight. I no longer paint to explain—I paint to release. The formlessness is intentional, because life has taught me that meaning is not always linear. It’s found in the layers, the textures, the quiet truths between the lines.
Poem:
I hear silence
I hear the pause
It’s clear and crystal
water stream like tears
growing, aging, decaying
A light appealed
Cascading dark life
I become still
softly recommend
my tears to disappear
Together, the painting and poem are not answers—they are offerings. A quiet invitation to witness what remains after the noise fades, after the body softens, after the mind learns to let go.
