My Story
I am a Filipino multidisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong. My work is rooted in personal memory, lived experience, and the stories of the Filipino diaspora. I explore themes of longing, displacement, and the universal search for home—believing that regardless of status, gender, or creed, we are all anchored in an idea of belonging.
My process is intuitive and emotionally driven, shaped by everyday conversations and fleeting moments. I translate these into layered visual compositions, sound, poetry, and performance, engaging with anxiety, societal expectations, and the desire for acceptance. Influenced by Louise Bourgeois, I embrace vulnerability and psychological depth, using the body as both medium and archive—a site of resistance, storytelling, and transformation.
Poetry and music are central to my practice. I often begin with sound and evolve it into visual or sculptural forms. As the founder and lead vocalist of Dark Himaya, I channel emotional landscapes into dark, soulful melodies. As a founder of Sinag Art Space, an independent artist-run space on Lamma Island, I advocate for cultural collaboration and support young, emerging artists in continuing and sustaining their creative journeys.
As an educator, I strive to nurture confidence in younger artists by encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and self-trust. I believe mistakes are not only inevitable—they are vital to growth, and embracing them is part of developing an authentic creative voice.
